At Dalkeith Dental we appreciate that dental treatment can be challenging for some patients. Patients may have dental phobia, needle phobia or may have had a poor experience previously.
With this in mind, we are happy to offer sleep dentistry/sedation services for our patients.
Once you have met with one of our dentists and agreed upon a treatment plan, we will organise a sedation appointment for you with one of our Sedation Specialists. They will contact you to ask some medical history questions, to explain how sedation works and answer any of your questions.
At your appointment, the Sedation Specialist will carefully put you into a deep sleep and monitor you while your regular dentist completes your dental treatment. Ideally as much treatment as is possible will be carried out at this appointment. Once you wake, you will recall little or none of your treatment.
You will pay a separate fee to the Sedation Practitioner for the appointment. Our experienced Sedation Specialists charge on average $550 – $750 depending on the length of sedation and the dental treatment required. Costs may be less or more depending on the amount of dental work to be done.
